In the IPS
Empress system, the restoration with all its functional specifications
is modeled in wax. Once the wax restoration has been invested
and burned out, the heated, softened ceramic is pressed into the
mould. |
Method
In the IPS Empress system, the
restoration with all its functional specifications is modeled in wax.
Once the wax restoration has been invested and burned out, the heated,
softened ceramic is pressed into the mould.
Material
The ceramic is based on glass that
contains latent nucleating agents. In a process comprising several
stages, controlled crystillization is used to produce leucite crystals,
measuring a few microns in the glass Matrix.
The semi-finished product of
leucite-reinforced ceramic powder is pressed into ingots and sintered.
These ingots are the basic components from which dental technicians press
restorations.
Advantages
-
Outstanding
esthetics
-For perfect integration into the natural environment. For
restorations to blend with natural teeth.
-
Excellent
fit because of new thermoplastic processing
-For accurately fitting restorations with optimum marginal seal.
-
Very
strong crowns, veneers, and inlays/onlays
-For long-lasting restorations on which patients can rely
-
Biocompatible
ceramic material
-For avoiding gingival trauma.
-
IPS
Empress Ceramic wears almost like tooth enamel

IPS
Empress®2
The IPS Empress® 2 System is
comprised of two new and distinctly different ceramic materials. The
framework material of IPS Empress2 is composed of lithium disilicate, and a
fluorapatite ceramic used in the layering phase of the fabrication of the
restorations. These new materials provide more than three times the
strength of the original IPS Empress, thus expanding the indications for
use. The new IPS Empress2 material provides strength and esthetics for
single-unit crowns and three-unit bridges. The original IPS Empress
materialcontinues to be indicated for esthetic inlays, onlays, and veneers.

The
Captek crown is the result of 30 years of
research by an internationally renowned prosthodontist and world-class
dental technician, with the sole purpose of developing the best
restoration to offer their own patients. This unique scientific
breakthrough enables your dentist to deliver natural, long-lasting
crowns and bridges that, most importantly, are healthier for your
surrounding gums.
For
centuries, gold has been known as the
preferred material for dental restorations. Captek's
advanced technology combines all the advantages of high-purity
gold, without sacrificing the strength of lower
gold dental materials. Years of research and patient
satisfaction have proven that Captek
crowns are durable, accurate, resistant to harmful bacteria and
plaque, and - what will be most obvious to you, the patient -
attractive. Finally, compromises need not be made to achieve a
beautiful and healthy smile.
